Screen Printing is a process by which ink is pressed through silk that has been stretched onto a frame. The ink can be pushed with a squeege onto parchment, sign material, fabric or a number of other items.
Art work is converted into simple designs, and then the color is separated. One screen is made for each color required and then the screens are registered on a press to make one multi-colored design. The screen is made through a process in a dark room, and once "burned" is able to be used again and again. Screens can be saved when a job will be repeated or they can be reclaimed and used for another project. Ink can be changed and a single screen can be used to print in different colors on different fabrics.
